Terms and Conditions For the Replacement of Dock Lifts

Under contract 3DVDIE-14-B-0033, Advance Lifts, Inc. is the single source dock lift supplier to the United States Postal Service and the USPS has made its contract pricing from Advance Lifts, Inc. available to contractors who are building and/or remodeling postal facilities that require dock lifts. The terms of sale to contractors are as follows:

TOP OF GROUND REPLACEMENT UNITS, (Models 1045, 1055 & 6568)

  1. The USPS must provide the contact name and phone number of the person responsible for the site that the equipment is being delivered to.
  2. The USPS is responsible for providing the correct voltage and phase of the equipment at the time of order. Any changes in voltage, once the unit has been delivered, will be at the expense of the USPS.
  3. Advance Lifts provides a specific plug with each different voltage. This plug may or may not be compatible with your existing receptacle. If you are uncertain what receptacle you have, contact your local maintenance personnel or electrician to help you with this determination. It may be necessary to have the receptacle changed to match the units’ at the time of delivery. The delivery personnel are not qualified electricians and can not make these changes for you.
  4. The delivery company is responsible for contacting each location 24 hours in advance of the delivery. Every effort is made to honor this requirement; however it is impossible to schedule to the minute due to traffic, weather and other conditions. Advance Lifts will be happy to supply the shipper’s phone number so that you can schedule better.
  5. Removal of old lift must be purchased at the same time as the new lift. Removals must be scheduled in advance so the shipper can make room on the truck for the old equipment. Not all units can be removed from site the same day they are delivered and may be picked up at a future date within a reasonable amount of time.
  6. The delivery company is not responsible for handrail installation or bridge chain hook up. Advance Lifts recommends that you have a maintenance person available at the time of delivery for these requirements.
  7. The USPS is responsible for ordering the correct bridge and ramp configuration. Any changes to the configuration after delivery will be at the expense of the USPS.

PIT MOUNTED REPLACEMENT UNITS (Model 2500K)

  1. The USPS must provide the contact name and phone number of the person responsible for the site that the equipment is being delivered to.
  2. A site survey is mandatory and will be performed by a subcontractor hired by Advance Lifts Inc. The survey results will determine what site conditions, if any, require modification before the new lift can be installed. Any modifications, additions or local code upgrades will be determined by the site survey. The expenses for any site changes are the responsibility of the USPS. Additions and modifications will be billed directly to the location and through a subcontractor, not Advance Lifts. The site survey will also determine the correct equipment specifications.
  3. All line voltage electrical work is the responsibility of the USPS. A qualified maintenance person or electrician needs to be present at the time of installation.
  4. Units will be installed to match existing conditions. Relocation of power units, warning devices or operating controls is not permitted without prior notification.
  5. Any delays to the installation due to site conditions, i.e. trucks blocking area, mail carts, etc, can result in additional charges to the USPS.
  6. Removal of unit must be purchased at the same time the lift is purchased or existing lift will not be disposed of.
